Keeping Del Mar’s vision for a Community-Oriented Civic Center alive

Del Mar has tried to get approval for a new city hall for close to four decades. Not until Jim Watkins and Leeger Architecture teamed up to present a more complete civic center concept did it finally gain traction. The residents approved of a concept that would be more than just government offices – a facility that they could come together for events, community gathering place, and fulfill other needs such as coffee shop or restaurant or historic museum.

• Program:City Hall offices, Town Meeting Hall, Public Civic Plaza, location for Farmer’s Market, and future expansion areas for restaurant or retail.
